I can't live without music so when my Creative MP3 player gave up on me after 5 years of service I was really sad. It was a high school graduation gift from my aunt. When I graduated college last year, I kept nagging my mom to buy me an another music player. She didn't give the okay signal back then but early this year she finally gave in. =D 

The name Creative faded already. My old mp3 player really looked messy. Hahha!

Messy...Especially the back side. I lost the battery cover.

I chose Apple's iPod Touch because I love its features like you can use it as a music player, watch videos, put lots of application (with different functions!) and of course it is Wi-Fi ready. Sadly, I didn't foresee that I'll be putting a lot of videos from my Korean entertainment addiction so I already had to delete some of my applications. Yes, I bought the 8 GB one because I really don't want to burden my mom even more for a more expensive gadget but really I'm regretting it now. Haha! I really don't mind having little applications in my iPod Touch because the main reason why I bought this is because I want to listen to MUSIC everywhere I am. =) 

When you take videos using the iPod Touch, it really has a great quality. I took a video during Super Junior's 2nd concert here in the Philippines and the video and sound quality was really good. Too bad I didn't know how to zoom in so the artists were like ants in my video. =D You guys know how? Please do tell me how to zoom in while taking a video. =D I really don't have the knack to thoroughly explore things. Haha!

My favorite application would be the Merriam-Webster dictionary. Do I sound so geeky? No? Okay then. =D Since I also read books and watch Korean series some of the English subs gives you nosebleed especially in historical dramas that uses really deep and ancient words (For instance, I was watching this historical drama called Chuno. The English sub says "harebrained tomfoolery". I don't know those words! =D), I easily just typed in the words and voila! =D My other apps include CNN and BBC World News. =D These three apps will surely not be deleted...oh VLC app too.

Piece of advise. If you are going to buy an iTouch make sure to buy a 32GB memory or higher. Why did you choose your current music player? =) If you own an Apple gadget, what is your fave application? =)

Fangirl mode in 3...2...1


I was addicted to this Korean historical drama, Chuno/The Slave Hunters. The root of this addiction is Lee Jong Hyuk. He is a Korean actor known for either the other guy or being an antagonist in a drama. He is not the super handsome boy next door type. I just love his charisma in playing those roles. I became his fan after watching Formidable Rivals/Powerful Opponents in KBS World. Lee Jong Hyuk plays as the assassin, Hwang Chul Woong, in Chuno who was enslaved by his ambitions.

Now the Chuno addiction. I never really blogged about Kdramas in my personal blog but this one is an exception because I just super love this drama. I regret not watching this drama in its original run on KBS World. I wasn't able to watch the last episode while streaming at dramafans.org because the link was broken ( of all the episodes..grr) and that left me so restless finding for a Chuno DVD. Desperate measures knocks in and I searched on the internet for an orginal DVD but was discouraged because it costs Php 5249!! I searched for a Kdrama seller on the net who downloads them and burns it in a blank CD. That's the best option I had so after 3 days, I got myself a Chuno DVD. =D

I was left speechless after watching the last episode. JANG HYUK's acting was just AMAZING. He made the character, LEE DAEGIL, soooo memorable. He really deserved all those Daesang awards last year and for those awards that he didn't win screw those award giving bodies because JANG HYUK'S acting was beyond amazing in this drama. Lee Jong Hyuk was an AMAZING antagonist too. Ironic as it sounds I LOVE THE WAY THE DRAMA ENDED. Almost all the characters had closure but I wished General Choi and Wangson was there when Daegil died though. Hwang Chul Woong felt remorse at the end. Taeha and Hyewon will continue to change the world one step at a time. When I think about Chuno/The Slave Hunters, there is only one name that first pops out of my mind and that is LEE DAEGIL. Daegil deserved the "epic hero" ending. He gave up his life saving his only beloved, Eunyeon, and telling her to live with happiness with Song Taeha (super duper ouch!). Real love is unselfish.

I really cried watching the scene of Seolhwa and Daegil in the last part where Daegil was dying. I was a Daegil/Seolhwa shipper at first but realized no one can replace Eunyeon in Daegil's heart. Daegil's treatment to Seolhwa was like a little sister. This line from Daegil made me cry even more.

Daegil (dying): "Seolhwa, I'm sorry. Darkness surrounded me, that's why I couldn't see your heart was beating for me."

Before Daegil died, he asked her to sing him a song but when Seolhwa asked him what song will she sing for him, Daegil stopped talking...........and he died in the arms of Seolhwa. *sob sob sob* =( 

Well at least he didn't die alone and he was with a woman who loved him. Gosh, even typing this one I still feel sad and teary-eyed. Seolhwa loves singing and the actress who plays her, Kim Ha Eun, has a really good trot voice. =) 

Result after watching the ending? PUFFY EYES! Hahha. =))

Currently, Chuno is my most favorite Kdrama and it is one of the best indeed. Everything about Chuno is great.  The actors down to the supporting one, cinematography (I suggest when you watch this drama view it in the highest possible pixel), fight scenes (hawt! rawr!), and the OST ( I always listen to the OST right now even the instrumental ones!). I will never get tired watching this drama over and over again.

ACL Suites is a hotel near Araneta Coliseum. It is located at 13th Avenue Cubao, Quezon City. If you are going to walk from the hotel going to Araneta, it would take you around 15 minutes to get there. I suggest you take a jeepney or taxi, it would only take 5 minutes. This is where we stayed during Super Junior's concert in Manila. The hotel was nice. I was impressed when we got to our room. The hotel had a simple interior design but it was really worth the price. We chose the Family Suite since there were four of us staying.


One thing I did not like was their breakfast. I know it was an American hotel since they have dollar rates but I was really shocked when we were served with 2 sliced bread each that was divided into half (so we got 4 half sliced bread each), coffee, mango and strawberry jam. My friends and I were like "is this what we paid for?". We waited a bit  hoping they would serve us more but that was it. Tsk2. Too bad I wasn't able to take a picture of our breakfast.


ACL staff, would you mind adding maybe just one egg to your free breakfast? Well, of course that meal wasn't really free but 4 half sliced bread each???

Overall their service was nice. The staff were accommodating. We arrived before 12 PM at the hotel so we weren't allowed to check in yet but it was great of them to let us leave our bags since we had to go to Enchanted Kingdom that day. We paid for our room and left for Enchanted Kingdom. Thankfully, our things were still intact when we came back at the hotel around 9 PM the same day.

It has been 3 weeks since SS3 Manila but I still feel the euphoria. I constantly watch and download fancams from SS3 Manila. SS3 Manila or Super Show 3 Manila is the 3rd Asian Tour of a Korean boy group, Super Junior.

I wrote a blog entry 2 days after the concert but I had to delete it because I sent that entry to Pulp Mag hoping my story would be published. The organizer doesn't want the articles sent for publication to be posted in the internet so I deleted it. I will post it again here in my blog when Pulp Magazine Super Show 3 Manila edition comes out. =) I know a lot of us sent articles but I'm still crossing my fingers mine would be published. =D

My 2010 was a blast. Best year to date. =)

These made my year:

> Freedom
      - Being single again was one of the best things that happened to me this year. I got to catch up with my life, friends and my hobbies (especially fangirl-ing..LOL).

> College Graduation
      - Need I say more? Haha! 

> Super Junior and KPOP
      - I started listening to KPOP last year but 2010 is just my full force KPOP addiction. XD. Music is universal. 

      - Super Junior. Aigoo. These boys just increased my KPOP addiction. Why do I love SuJu? Well, aside from their oh so freakin' hot looks..I love their songs,  choreography and most especially their BROTHERHOOD. =) My friend and I are going to watch Super Junior's 2nd concert here in the Philippines and since the start of classes last June, both of us really saved (for the concert tix) to the point that we almost didn't have a social life. =))

> B2ST Concert
     - YEAH! B2ST was my very first favorite KPOP group. I was ecstatic when I knew they'd be coming here in the PH. So, I flew to Manila with my cousin to watch their concert. =)

> FIFA World Cup
     - I always thought Football was boring but that changed when I first started watching my very first football match, that was South Korea vs. Greece. =) I also had my vampire days during the WC. I stayed up at dawn just to watch some matches. XD Till now I still read football updates. And ohh, did I mention I love Keisuke Honda? Hahha!

> FIBA World Championships
     - I lovvvee watching basketball but I don't play..I just watch. =)) I have a blog entry about the FIBA WC..you can just read it. =) Oh yes, had my vampire days too. =))

> SS3 Manila fever
     - My friend and I talked about SS3 Manila like it's a week away when it was still like a hundred days plus pa. =)) And now, it's less than 2 months already! Can't wait!

I don't know what happened to me today but I felt like I hopped into a time machine and brought me to those sad memories in my life. I felt like going home when I was at school awhile ago and was thinking to not go to class for like 2 days.

What you are about to read is PURE FICTION. =) 

Hello Harry Potter fans. There aren't a lot of copies of Quidditch Through the Ages by Kennilworthy Whisp  (of course, JK Rowling still wrote this but just for the sake of creating the fantasy of being in the HP universe let's just use Mr. Whisp..=D) so I will be summarizing it for you. =) There are 10 chapters of the book and part 1 of this blog entry will be from chapters 1 to 4. =)                                      



CHAPTER 1: The Evolution of the Flying Broomstick

Every household in Britain owns at least one flying broomstick. Wondering why they chose to magically enhance a broomstick instead of carpets, flying cars, flying chairs or whatever object you can think of? It's because a broomstick is easy to hide, portable and inexpensive. There is no excuse if found by Muggles.


Figure A. It is a medieval broomstick (thick knotty handle of unvarnished ash, with hazel twigs bound crudely to one end) on display in the Museum of Quidditch in London. Guthrie Lochrin, a Scottish wizard, experienced a great discomfort while riding the broomstick in Figure A. This broomstick only moves forward at one speed; goes up, down and stop. Until the 12th century, broomsticks are more comfortable to fly with.


CHAPTER 2: Ancient Broom Games

Here are some of them:

a. Annual Broom Race of Sweden - Fliers race from Kopparberg to Arjeplog, a distance of slightly over 300 miles.
b. Stichstock of Germany -  where a 20 foot high pole was topped with an inflated dragon bladder. The bladder-guardian protects it and is tied around her waist so she could not fly more than 20 feet away. The rest of the players attempt to puncture the bladder.
c. Aingingein of Ireland - One by one the players would take the Dom or ball ( gallbladder of a goat), and speed through a series of burning barrels set high in the air on stilts. The Dom was to be thrown through the final barrel and the player who succeeds at the fastest time wins.
d. Creaothceann of Scotland - This game was made illegal in 1762.
e. Shuntbumps of England - Sole purpose of the game is to knock off as many players as you can.
f.  Swivenhodge 


CHAPTER 3: The Game from Queerditch Marsh

The not so pleasant beginnings of Quidditch began at the edge of Queerditch Marsh. Thanks to Gertie Keddle we now have a glimpse of the very early editions of Quidditch. The copy of her diary where she wrote about how the players played is now in the possession of the Museum of Quidditch in London. Here are some excerpts of her diary:

" Tuesday. Wet. Was out on the marsh picking nettles. Broomstick idiots playing again. Watched for a bit behind a rock. They've got a new ball. Throwing it to each other and trying to stick it in trees at either end of the marsh. Pointless rubbish. "

Based from the excerpt, Ms.Keddle isn't really happy with those people playing near her marsh. LOL. =D

Early terms of Quidditch equipments:
> Inflated Bladder - Quaffle
> Trees - Goals
> Enchanted Heavy Rocks - Bludgers

Early terms of Quidditch player's positions:
> Catcher - Chaser
> Blooder - Bludger
> Hunter - Seeker

The Golden Snitch wasn't used until the middle of the 13th century.

CHAPTER 4: The Arrival of the Golden Snidget

The Golden Snidget is today a protected species. It is difficult to detect by Muggles because of their aptitude at hiding and their very great speed. 


Some wizards in the past try to catch Snidgets thru nets, wands and some with their bare hands and subsequently crushed by its captor. Barberus Bragge, Chief of the Wizard's Council, attended a Quidditch match in 1269 and brought a caged Golden Snidget. Mr. Bragge told the players that he would award 150 Galleons to the player who caught it during the course of the game. Yes, the extra 150 points once the Seeker catches the Golden Snitch (in the modern Quidditch match) was based on the 150 Galleons promised by Mr. Bragge. =)

In the middle of the following century, Golden Snidgets were declared protected species, outlawing both its killing and its use in Quidditch games. They kill the Snidget once captured by a player.

Bowman Wright of Godric's Hollow was a skilled metal charmer. He mimicked and bewitched the behavior and flight patterns of the Snidget. So, the Golden Snitch was invented. It is a walnut-sized ball exactly the weight of a Snidget.

The introduction of the golden snitch may be said to have finished the process begun three hundred years before on Queerditch Marsh. Quidditch had been truly born.

I started listening to K-Pop summer of 2009. The first idol group that caught my attention while watching Music Bank was B2ST. The song Bad Girl really has a catchy beat. The addiction started there. I watched their MV on Youtube lots of times in a day. Watch the music video of Bad Girl HERE.

B2ST is a South Korean boy group managed by CUBE Entertainment. The members are Doo Joon, Yo Seob, Gi Kwang, Hyun Seung, Jun Hyung, Dong Woon.

B2ST had a concert here in the Philippines last June 19, 2010. Of course, I was there. =D My cousin accompanied me to the concert. I couldn't afford to miss it. They are the first idol group that caught my HEART. =p

Okay I'm gonna start my rant. Fasten your seat belts.

A month ago, Skycable had a new subscription rate and package. We have to subscribe for this DigiBox for 700 plus pesos or else they are gonna remove channels 55 and up. Being a fan of the Korean entertainment industry, KBS World (is on channel 55) is a must have channel. So my mom and I decided to avail for this new package. My mom also loves watching KBS dramas so she didn't hesitate to go for it. To be fair, I liked it that they would add new channels if you avail for this new subscription. Skycable added ETC, 2nd Avenue, Biography, Fox News, Al Jazeera and 3 other channels. The reception is really good BUT these positive feedbacks for the new box are shut off by negative ones (lots of them).

So the day the new DigiBox got installed it only worked for less than 24 hours! So we had to call customer service to have our box replaced!

This was what happened to our first DigiBox:

> While watching, it suddenly froze so I had to turn off both the TV and the box. When I turned on the TV again, "Loading 100%" appeared on our TV screen. I waited.....for a long time..trust me. So I turned it off again. The time when I turned on the TV again, still it didn't change. Same message: "Loading 100%".

The next day we had our box replaced. The technician said it was a FACTORY DEFECT. What-the-fuck.

Now my OTHER PROBLEM with the box is that the "No right to access scrambled programs. Please contact your Skycable operator." message OFTEN appears on our screen and sometimes (well, most of the time) ALL the channels are gone. Yeah, it happened lots of times that I didn't have problems remembering the 'no right to access blah blah' while typing.

ANOTHER PROBLEM: Since the new box was installed, it freezes a LOT! I mean you know..when you watch TV then in a snap the people on your TV AREN'T MOVING. So I had to turn off both the TV and box so I can happily watch TV again. Trust me..I did it a LOT of times. I just hope our TV would put up with this craziness.

OLD box:

Seriously, that was better!!! It had LESS downtime. I also didn't have LOTS of complaints with the OLD box.

I wouldn't be subscribing for this DigiBox had you not included KBS World as one of the channels to be removed! If there would be other cable company who would have KBS World in their channel list, TRUST me Skycable, I would DEFINITELY switch.

To future Skycable subscribers, you might want to think twice.

Who loves this show? This show is GREAT and HILARIOUS. It is a SHAME CBS got it canceled. Tsk2.

Jenna Elfman (Dharma and Greg) and Jon Foster (Stay Alive, movie) are the leads. This show is about a young man and a cougar who had a one night stand and turned out they just created an offspring out of that "fun" night. =D Both of them decided to have the baby and eventually developed feelings for each other. Davis (Nicolas Wright) is soo funny in this sitcom. =)

It has been a great tournament. Lots of exciting matches. Turkey is this year's host country. The Turkish fans were really supportive with their NT. This tournament has been dominated by team USA and no doubt they showed the world that they are the "kings" of basketball. Speed and defense got them to where they are right now. I'm no fan of team USA though. Haha! My fave teams are Spain and Lithuania. Hope Spain would start finding young new players because their NT is getting old and they might not be able to keep up with the other teams next FIBA WC and even in the 2012 Olympics. Something was wrong with Spain in this tournament too. Most of their wins weren't sooo convincing that they were the defending champs. I'm hoping for the best for Lithuania. I really hope they'd be dominating in the 2012 Olympics and the next FIBA WC in 2014. I hope Linas Kleiza will bring his A game in crucial matches. He was completely shut out during the semis. I hope Mantas Kalnietes will improve more in the next few years. And of course,  Ricky Rubio should really start hitting those jump shots, 3 pointers and etc. Shooting is really his weakness. I'm still hoping for a much better improvement with this kid. He's still young.

I stayed up at dawn just to watch the games live. I even had one absent in one of my classes because I was not able to wake up early. =D

To name a few exciting games:

> The game between Spain vs. Serbia. That was heart stopping! I rooted for Spain so I was really heartbroken with that loss. I will never forget the name Milos Teodosic. Lol! Also the commentator's heart stopping words while Teodosic was attempting the 3 point shot "Fasten your seatbealtssssssss...BAM!!!" =)) I will never forget this. =))

> Turkey vs. Serbia semi finals! That was one of the EPIC GAMES I've watch in all these years of watching basketball!!

> Serbia vs. Croatia. Too bad I was not able to watch this game because Basketball TV, the one who had the rights to show FIBA games, didn't show it because they suck at their coverage. BTV didn't show ALL the FIBA WC 2010 games. The only team they KNEW was team USA. >.<

> Lithuania vs. USA semi-finals. This game wasn't as exciting as the above mentioned but I just want to commend the Lithuanians for fighting hard and not giving up in that game. They almost had it but USA's speed and super fast transition defense prevented them to get closer with USA's lead.

It has been 4 days since the FIBA WC 2010 ended and I'm missing it right now. I'm so determined to go to Spain in the next FIBA WC in 2014. I have it as one of my GOALS. <--- Possible
